Ostuni, also known as the White City, is an ideal destination for those who wish to explore another fascinating and historically rich town. Its peculiar shape, characterized by immaculate whitewashed houses, shining streets and ancient artisan workshops still active, has given Ostuni the status of UNESCO World Heritage City. A visit to Ostuni will allow you to immediately grasp its extraordinary charm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You absolutely must not miss a visit to the city's magnificent main church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The co-cathedral, dating back to the 15th century but subsequently heavily remodeled over the centuries, stands on the highest part of the city and features a unique fusion of Gothic and Romanesque elements typical of Puglia. Its fa\u00e7ade is particularly notable for its distinctive structure! Descending along the ancient streets lined with typical shops, you will reach the cathedral of Ostuni, adorned with an imposing Gothic rose window with 24 rays. Below, a bas-relief depicting the Madonna and Child in Glory captures the gaze of visitors. Piazza S. Oronzo, dedicated to the protector of the city, dominates the city skyline with its obelisk. This 21-meter-high monument was erected as an ex voto to Sant'Oronzo following his alleged miraculous protection against the plague and famine. At the top of the obelisk stands the statue of the saint, while along the sides there are other figures, including San Biagio and Sant'Agostino.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the coast of Ostuni lies the Parco Dune Costiere, an area of extraordinary beauty, particularly appreciated by nature lovers.
